The second annual "Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Fort Lauderdale 5K Run/Walk" will take place on Sept. 8 starting at Huizenga Plaza. The run recreates the final footsteps of firefighter Stephen Siller who was last seen running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel en route to the World Trade Center after the Sept. 11 attacks. Proceeds will be used to build Smart Homes for triple and quadruple amputees from post Sept. 11 wars to enable them to live independently. The Smart Homes will provide energy efficiency, ease of accessibility and automation. For more information, visit www.TunneltoTowersRun.org.
