Sparano presided over a record-tying turnaround as the Dolphins, behind Chad Pennington and an effective running game, went from 1-15 to 11-5 and made the playoffs in his first season. In the two years since, his Dolphins have been 7-6, only to flame out with 0-3 finishes in both 2009 and 2010. Miami started the 2011 season 0-7 and was 4-9 when Sparano was fired with three games remaining.
