Three Things on this Miami Dolphins-New York Jets overtime madness:
Thing 1: Can't blame Joe Philbin for calling the timeout just before Nick Folk's first attempt at the game-winning field goal.
That's what you do in that situation.
It's just horrible luck for Philbin that Randy Starks broke through to block the kick.
Folk didn't miss on his reprieve, lifting the Jets to a 23-20 win and dropping the Dolphins to 1-2.
Thing 2: This was the first overtime game for the Dolphins since the infamous Gator Day game, an 18-15 loss to the Broncos, last October.
Yes, Tim Tebow was in the building for that one as well.
Last time the Dolphins won an overtime game was Oct. 17, 2010 at Green Bay, a 23-20 win over a Packers team with an offensive coordinator named Joe Philbin.
Last Dolphins overtime win at home came on Dec. 16, 2007 against the Ravens. That was the famous Greg Camarillo game that gave the 0-13 Dolphins their only win under Cam Cameron, who went one-and-done as coach.
Sorry to bring that up, but I felt I had to.
Memo to Eva Longoria, in case you were too busy to watch Sunday's game:
Time to get a new boyfriend. Mark Sanchez is beneath you. He is no Tony Parker of the gridiron.
