Three Things to consider after the Miami Dolphins completed the third winless preseason in club history:
Thing 1: That was a scary statistic used on the CBS-4 telecast of Wednesday's 30-13 loss at Dallas.
Not only are the Dolphins entering the year with a rookie quarterback for the first time ever, but of their first five games, three will come against defenses ranked in the league's top seven a year ago.
The Texans were No. 2, the Jets were No. 5 and the Bengals were seventh.
Not exactly the formula for a fast start.
Thing 2: Pretty sure Dolphins fullback Jorvorskie Lane has doled out a concussion to would-be, road-kill tacklers the past two weeks.
Still checking on this, but that's an unofficial franchise record for the preseason.
Zonk must be proud.
Thing 3: With red zone issues still present and Dan Carpenter pretty much doing it all again for the Dolphins, Joe Philbin really needs to work on his fist pump.Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
