The Hilltoppers outscored FAU 40-25 in the second half at E.A. Diddle Arena to beat FAU 64-57 and end a two-game losing streak.
The loss ended FAU’s two-game win streak. Before those two wins, the Owls had lost two straight road games after leading at the half. FIU outscored FAU 48-27 to win 76-56 and
FAU (11-15, 7-6 Sun Belt) built at 11-point lead midway through the first half and had a 32-24 lead at the half. But Western Kentucky (9-17, 5-8) slowly and methodically whittled that lead down.
The Owls had a 32-24 lead at the half, but WKU chipped away at that until they got their first lead of the game at 48-47 with 9:39 left.
From then on the Owls and Hilltoppers traded leads, but it was WKU that got the baskets when they needed late.
