Summer’s sizzling at these pool parties

When it’s hot out, the best place to party is poolside with drinks and music. And this summer, you’ll find plenty of splashy events throughout South Florida. We’ve rounded up a list of the best pool parties for fashionistas, boaters, budget-conscious folk and everyone in between.

A favorite of Miami Dolphins cheerleaders, the Bamboo Beach Tiki Bar and Café is known as a relaxing spot to cool off during the hot summer months. Located next to the Ocean Manor Hotel and Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, this hideaway offers drink specials on the weekends, a live DJ and food specials. On Sundays, meat lovers gravitate toward the Caribbean pig-roast buffet ($15.95 per person), which includes a hefty plate of meat, baked beans, potato salad, cole slaw, and beans and rice. During the weekend, spring break makes a comeback poolside at Exit 66, where shot girls, bikini-clad women and handsome musclemen rule the scene. Ultra Music artist, DJ Eran Hersh, spins on Saturdays, and on Sundays, the club brings in guest DJs for the popular Second Sunday On Til’ Dawn bash. For the ultimate pool party experience, you may want to check out the club’s monthly foam party, where the pool and patio areas are covered in several feet of soapy suds. On Sundays, you’ll find the pretty people relaxing poolside at Sublime, a fashionable pool party held at WET pool lounge inside the W Fort Lauderdale, the trendiest spot in Central Broward. On Fridays, through Labor Day, the Village of North Palm Beach hosts a family-friendly pool party for all ages from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The weekly bash will offer fun activities such as water games, food, music and live entertainment. $1 per person. Duffy’s Sports Grill, a popular sports bar and restaurant, hosts weekend pool parties with drink specials (e.g. two-for-one cocktails),and live entertainment with DJs Nikko Starr and residents from the Artist Related Group. Mingle with celebs, athletes and star-watchers at the Electric Bleau Beach party at the Arkadia pool inside the Fontainebleau. On Saturdays, resident DJs Mad Linx and Stacie Todd mix the best in hip-hop, house and trance music. House DJ Armand Pena spins at Revibe Sundays. Plan on spending big bucks at this spot: Drinks cost $12 and up, and bottles start at $325. For an extra A-list feel, rent a cabana or day bed ($1,000-$1,500). The Fontainebleau prides itself on booking big-name DJs, so expect to find big names on rotation, such as David Guetta, Calvin Harris and Deadmau5. Dress code: beach-bunny chic, thong bikinis. The music never stops on Saturdays at the Perry Hotel‘s rooftop pool. Now in its fourth year, the RX pool party — a favorite of celebs such as Jamie Foxx, Shemar Moore, Ne-Yo and Tara Reid — continues to draw crowds. The party was dubbed by the Travel Channel as South Beach’s No. 1 weekly pool party. It’s the brainchild of Miami DJ/producer Justin Sheppard and nightlife guru Stephan Morris, who book international DJs and celebs to party with them and their gorgeous friends. On Sundays, bounce over to the Delano‘s White Rabbit Pool party, a new soiree that takes place from noon to 7 p.m. This is where the fashionable, 30-something crowd likes to chill. There’s no cover charge, but drinks are costly, starting at $10 for a beer and $15 for a cocktail. Food is available at Biancas, where brunch costs $60 per person. Things can get naughty Sundays at Sinful Sundaze, the weekly pool party at Finnegan’s River. This sports bar and restaurant — a favorite of residents of Brickell and downtown Miami — offers more than 400 feet of dock space, bikini contests and beer-pong tournaments. With $3 drink specials, it’s better on your wallet than any party on South Beach. Come by land or by sea to this joint. In fact, many patrons park their yachts here on Sundays. On Sundays, the best place to people-watch is at the Mondrian South Beach, where trendy locals and tourists drink and dance poolside near the Sunset Lounge.
