Peepshow

Mother Goose has never looked this good.

“Peepshow” is a topless burlesque at Planet Hollywood that draws its inspiration from an unlikely source — children’s nursery rhymes.

The plot finds “Bo Peep,” a lonely single gal played by Holly Madison, coming home after a hard day at the office, and — after a hot bath and glass of wine — drifting off to sleep while reading a fairy tale.

Bo Peep loses herself in a dream world full of characters from Mother Goose — Little Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks, the Little Girl With a Curl and various other figures from the pages of Mother Goose (perhaps as channeled through the imagination of Hugh Hefner).

Our heroine eventually meets up with the “Peep Diva,” who guides Bo Peep toward self-discovery and sexual empowerment. It’s all told in big-budget production numbers and highly stylized striptease. The set list includes songs by Aerosmith, Michael Buble, Christina Aguilera and Ginuwine.

Madison got her start as one of Hefner’s “Girls Next Door” and now stars in her own reality show on the E! network, “Holly’s World.”

Filling in for Madison during vacation absences is the star’s good friend and “Holly’s World” co-star, Angel Porrino.

The show was conceived and created by Tony Award-winning director/choreographer Jerry Mitchell (“Legally Blonde,” “Hairspray”).

“It’s basically taking beautiful women and putting them on stage in a beautiful story that empowers them, so I think it’s exciting for men and women,” Mitchell said of the show.

“Peepshow’s” lead male vocalist is another denizen of “Holly’s World,” Josh Strickland, who originated the role of Tarzan in “Disney’s Tarzan — the Broadway Musical.”
