Criss Angel may be a mind freak, but he’s also a motorcycle freak. The Strip headliner is the proud owner of a $2-million collection of bikes, each of which has an affectionate nickname, among them “Lane Splitter” (a prototype from his own line) and the “Screamin’ Demon” (an old-school hog from Big Bear Choppers out of Southern California).
Now, Angel is putting some varoom into his stage show at the Luxor. His latest illusion involves making a chopper appear on stage out of nowhere.
“Criss Angel Believe” features many other mind-blowing illusions: The magician wrests free from a straitjacket while hanging upside down over the audience members’ heads. He disappears from one spot and reappears in another.
And (please don’t try this at home) Angel stuffs his mouth with double-edge razor blades, then pulls out of his mouth a long line of string with razor blades attached.
“Believe,” a collaboration with Cirque du Soleil, celebrates three years at the Luxor this fall.
Angel’s long-running television show, “Criss Angel Mindfreak” on A&E, features the magician hanging from a helicopter suspended by hooks in his back, walking on water, jumping across the Grand Canyon in a three-wheeled motorcycle and leaning over the edge of the roof of the 55-floor Aladdin Hotel at a death-defying angle
