Celebrity chef Michelle Bernstein is lending her support in the fight against food deserts.
The Miami-based chef is teaming up with Naked Juice and Wholesome Wave to help donate 500,000 pounds of produce to food deserts.
A food desert is a neighborhood without ready access to fresh, healthy and affordable food, such as fruits and vegetables.
Actor Adrian Grenier, the musician Common and chefs Michael Voltaggio and Jose Andres also have joined the efforts.
Local residents can get involved by take a photo holding a fruit or vegetable, tagging a friend and writing the hashtag "DrinkGoodDoGood," and Naked Juice will donate 10 pounds of produce.
Bernstein recently tagged a photo of herself pretending to eat an orange with its skin still on.
