Bad Marriages Take Toll on Women

A strained marriage may bring more than just depression and anger.

A new study shows that women in a contentious relationship were more likely than men, to develop cardiovascular problems like high blood pressure, high cholesterol and high blood sugar.

While many studies have linked poor marriages with poor health, the link to cardiovascular problems was only found in women.

Exactly why isn't known, but the lead author speculated that women may take the negativity more to heart, and think about it more than men.
