August 4 - Beer distributors shooting rampage

On August 4, disgruntled employee <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PEOCVC0000104" title="Omar S. Thornton" href="/topic/crime-law-justice/crimes/murder/omar-s.-thornton-PEOCVC0000104.topic">Omar Thornton</a> opened fire at a beer distribution plant in <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLGEO100100202240000" title="South Windsor" href="/topic/us/connecticut/hartford-county/south-windsor-PLGEO100100202240000.topic">South Windsor</a>, Conn.  Eight employees were killed before Thornton turned the gun on himself.  Speaking with a 911 operator Thornton claimed that the company treated him unfairly because he was black.
