July 29 - Committee charges Rep. Rangel

On July 29, the House Ethics Committee charged longtime New York Congressman Chrales Rangel with 13 counts of violating ethics rules, including failing to pay taxes and receiving reduced rent. Despite the charges Rangel had no problem winning re-election in November. In December the longtime Congressman was censured before the House of Representatives.
