January 7 - Alabama wins BCS Championship
On January 7, the Alabama Crimson Tide rolled over the Texas Longhorns 37-21 to capture the school's first national title since 1992. Game MVP, and Heisman Trophy winning running back, Mark Ingram scored two touchdowns.

You missed out the move disastrous flood ever which happened in Pakistan starting from the month of july. Do you know almost 20 million people were directly affected? and the number of people affected exceeds the total number of individuals affected bu the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the 2005 Kashmir earthquake and the 2010 Haiti earthquake. yet its not mentioned here. amazing!!
