October 23- Tunisia's first free elections

Citizens waited in line to cast their ballots at polling stations across Tunisia on Oct. 23, the first free vote in Tunisia's history. The election set a standard for other Arab countries where uprisings had triggered political change or governments had tried to rush reforms to stave off unrest.
