Secret Art Show to fundraise for Burbank’s arts programs

Share

The artwork of celebrities, Burbank students and professional artists will be revealed Saturday night during the Burbank Arts for All Foundation’s fourth-annual Secret Art Show.

Those who participate in the event will pay $40 per 4-inch-by 6-inch art piece, but they won’t know whose art they’re receiving until they hand over the donation.

There are about 600 pieces from secret artists, including sketches, doodles, paintings, collages and photos. The show will raise money to support arts programs across Burbank Unified’s 20 schools.

Some of this year’s artists include Conan O’Brien, Peter Bennett, who is art director of “SpongeBob SquarePants,” Burbank middle and high school students and artists from the Walt Disney Co.

“We are so excited to offer this fun night out to raise awareness for the arts and further creativity in the classroom for public school students in Burbank,” said Trena Pitchford, executive director of the Burbank Arts for All Foundation.

This year’s event will also feature a silent auction with items from such donors as Rhino Records, and Acme Archives, said Alexandra Helfrich, co-chair of the Secret Art Show.

“Some of the many things we love about the Secret Art Show are its contributions to enhancing the cultural community in Burbank, and the excitement of our guests as they build their own art collections with original work from local artists, as well as artists from all over the country,” Helfrich said.

The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. for VIP patrons and 7:30 p.m. for general-admission guests at the Burbank Studios, 3000 W. Alameda Ave.
