The woman who was found dead in a Burbank home Sunday evening was identified by Los Angeles County coroner’s officials as a 35-year-old Los Angeles woman.

The woman, identified by coroner’s officials as Brandi Carrasco, was found dead in a bedroom of a house on the 1900 block of Richard Street with multiple lacerations to her upper torso.

An autopsy to determine her cause of death is pending.

Brian Thomas Lowe, who lives in the home with his mother and appears to be an acquaintance of the victim, was arrested Monday afternoon on suspicion of murdering her.

He is being held in lieu of $1-million bail and is due in court this week.

Lowe has had previous run-ins with law enforcement. Most recently, in June of last year, he was convicted of driving under the influence and with a suspended license, according to Los Angeles County Superior Court records.

According to a relative of a neighbor, Lowe and his elderly mother are longtime residents of the single-family home where the body was found.

The woman, who asked not to be identified citing safety concerns, said that different people were always seen coming and going from the house.

“My kids are always here playing in front of the house, so it’s very scary,” she said.

Information on when or how she was killed was not immediately known. Further details were not immediately available.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Burbank police at (818) 238-3210.
