Man charged with murder in woman’s stabbing death inside Burbank home

The 35-year-old woman killed in Burbank on Sunday evening died of a stab wound to the neck, coroner’s officials said Thursday.

Just before 10 p.m. Sunday evening, police responded to a house in the 1900 block of Richard Street, where the woman, identified as Brandi Carrasco, was found dead with multiple stab wounds on her upper torso.

Her 28-year-old boyfriend, identified as Timothy Aguilar Andrade, was charged Thursday with one count of murder in her death. He’d been arrested early Tuesday morning, as police had been actively looking for him after identifying him as a person-of-interest in the case.

Andrade’s statements reportedly led detectives to the suspected murder weapon, a knife, which was recovered in Burbank, though police declined to reveal exactly where.

According to the district attorney’s office, both Andrade and Carrasco had been staying at the Richard Street address. A 49-year-old man who permanently lives in the home was initially suspected of killing the victim, though investigators later determined he was not involved. He was subsequently released from police custody.

Andrade is being held in lieu of $1-million bail, and is slated to be arraigned next month.

If convicted, Andrade faces 26 years to life in state prison.
