Letter: Local high school choirs deserve coverage

On Oct. 3 you published a letter from George Strattan about the wonderful Burroughs on Broadway program. We are fortunate in Burbank to have the two leading competitive show choir high schools in the nation. However, the Burbank Leader seldom prints anything about the show choirs at Burroughs or Burbank high schools.

The Leader gives extensive coverage to the sports programs, even though there are more students participating in the competitive music programs. Both schools have brought home many national championships and are rarely mentioned for these achievements. The young people work very hard and spend many hours after school and on weekends in rehearsal.

Perhaps the Leader can designate a contact person to receive information from the two vocal music associations so your readers can be informed about these two outstanding programs on a regular basis.
