Mailbag: High praise of religiosity

Share

I feel compelled to address some of the responses to the weekly subject matter of the In Theory column in the Burbank Leader. First of all, I want to recognize and thank Jon Barta and Bryan Griem for using the Bible, God’s word, as the basis for their answers and not resort to man’s own reasoning and worldly philosophies.

The atheists in their blindness will only take the credit themselves and call God an imaginary higher power. Most human beings can’t handle self achievement and negatively affects their character and ultimately leads many of them to self destruction.

If we have to enumerate all hospitals, orphanages, schools, colleges and other nonprofit institutions we learn that most of them were started by Christians all across the world. How many were started by atheists? None that I know of. Billy Graham said, “Society thrives on being careful of the possibility of insulting anyone, except God.”

I will close with two famous quotations: “In the end we will remember not the words of our enemies, but we will remember the silence of our friends” (Martin Luther King Jr.) and “If we cease to be a Nation Under God we will be a nation gone under” (President Ronald Reagan).
