Sports Roundup: Burroughs boys’ soccer moves into first place

BOYS’ SOCCER

Burroughs 1, Glendale 0: The Indians vaulted into first place in the Pacific League with Friday’s win on the road coupled with Crescenta Valley’s loss at Muir.

The Indians now lead Pasadena and CV by a point as their record sits at 11-3-3, 5-1 in league.

The lone goal was scored in the 11th minute by Jake Lasso. Burroughs goalkeeper Jordan Morgan made 10 saves for the shutout.

Arcadia 1, Burbank 0: The Bulldogs lost Friday in Pacific League action, dropping to 0-8-2, 0-6 in league. It was Burbank’s fifth loss in a row and its seventh straight in league play dating back to last season.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Burroughs 3, Glendale 0: The Indians prevailed at home Friday in Pacific League action at Memorial Field.

Burroughs improved to 9-4-1, 5-1 in league.

The Indians received goals from Mireya Gonzalez, Maddie Riggs and Alondra Solis. Emily Orsatt earned the shutout in goal.

Arcadia 5, Burbank 0: The Bulldogs were dealt their most lopsided loss of the season on Friday against the host Apaches, who are the reigning Pacific League champions.

The Bulldogs are 1-8-1, 1-4-1 in league.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Arcadia 48, Burbank 43: The Bulldogs (10-10, 2-3 in league) fell behind, 26-16, after two quarters and couldn’t come back in the Pacific League loss Friday at home.

St. Monica Academy 58, Lycee International of Los Angeles 20: The Lions (6-1) suffered their first loss of the season Friday on the road.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Burbank 52, Arcadia 47: The Bulldogs earned the Pacific League victory against the Apaches Friday evening at home.

Burbank improved to 14-4, 3-2 in league.

St. Monica Academy 49, Lycee International of Los Angeles 46: The Lions fell to 4-2 with the loss Friday evening on the road.
