Sports Roundup: Davis sparks Burbank boys’ basketball past Crescenta Valley

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Burbank 88, Crescenta Valley 78: Xavier Davis scored 32 points, including nine three-pointers, to lead the Bulldogs to a Pacific League win Tuesday on the road.

Burbank (12-7, 2-4 in league) also received 21 points from Tyrese Willis, 14 from Erik Harutyunyan and 13 from Justin Clark.

Pasadena 78, Burroughs 41: The Indians fell to 11-7, 2-4 in the Pacific League with the loss Tuesday evening at home.

Pilibos 72, Providence 68: The Pioneers slipped to 11-7, 1-2 in the Independence League with the loss Tuesday on the road.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Lycee International of Los Angeles 41, Mesrobian 29: The Lions (3-4, 3-2 in International League) won Tuesday afternoon at McCambridge Recreation Center.

Providence 42, Pilibos 27: The Pioneers remained undefeated in the Liberty League with the win Tuesday at home.

Francesca Maravilla had 10 points and seven rebounds, Sarah Cox added nine points and 10 rebounds and Ariel Gordillo chipped in eight points and three steals for Providence (14-5, 4-0 in league).

Pasadena 39, Burroughs 28: The Indians couldn’t claim the Pacific League win Tuesday evening on the road.

Burroughs (12-8, 3-3 in league) received six points and six rebounds by Faith Boulanger.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Burroughs 3, Muir 2: Manny Pascual scored in the final minute to lift the Indians to a Pacific League victory Tuesday on the road.

Manny Gonzalez also had a goal for Burroughs (10-6-1, 4-2-1 in league).

Burbank 1, Glendale 1: The Bulldogs are 3-4-4, 2-3-2 in the Pacific League after Tuesday’s stalemate at Glendale.

Providence 3, Yeshiva 1: Paul Swaine scored two goals and Elias Ferguson added a score in the Pioneers’ Independence League opener Saturday at Occidental College.

Providence is 5-3-1.

GIRLS SOCCER

Providence 8, Glendale Adventist Academy 0: The Pioneers outshot the Cougars, 21-0, in the win Tuesday at Occidental College to open Independence League play.

Claire Davis, Cecile Habash (two assists) and Sophia Malki had two goals each for Providence (6-0-2), while Kelly Fitzgerald and Veronica Hunstable also had goals.

Burbank 2, Glendale 2: The Bulldogs (1-7-2, 0-4-2 in league) played to a Pacific League stalemate Tuesday afternoon at home.
