Cirque du Soleil will bring its ‘Luzia’ show to the OC Fair & Event Center

Cirque du Soleil will take its big top to the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa and unveil a surreal world of acrobatics, music and visual surprises in its production “Luzia,” opening Feb. 21.

“Luzia” takes audiences in a “waking dream” to an imaginary Mexico. The show will run through March 25, with performances at 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 4:30 and 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, and 1:30 and 5 p.m. Sundays.

Through its sets, costumes and music, “Luzia” explores various themes tied to Mexico’s culture, history and mythology. It is Cirque du Soleil’s 38th original production, according to show officials.

Cirque du Soleil is a Montreal-based theatrical organization with 1,400 artists from more than 50 countries. The company has performed for more than 180 million spectators in more than 450 cities in over 60 countries.

Tickets for “Luzia” start at $50.
