Services set for former Estancia student who was killed at party

Memorial services are scheduled for Thursday through Saturday for Bryan Torres, 19, a former student and soccer player at Costa Mesa’s Estancia High School who was stabbed to death this month in Santa Ana.

Observances will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Harbor Lawn-Mount Olive Memorial Park & Mortuary, 1625 Gisler Ave, Costa Mesa, and from 7 p.m. to midnight Friday at Harbor Christian Fellowship, 740 W. Wilson St., Costa Mesa.

Torres’ funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harbor Christian Fellowship and will be followed by burial at Harbor Lawn-Mount Olive Memorial Park & Mortuary.

Torres was killed during a fight at a party early April 9, according to Santa Ana police.

A suspect, Nicholas James Tadlock, 22, of Costa Mesa, was arrested but later released after the Orange County district attorney’s office sent the case back to detectives, who are looking for more witnesses, Santa Ana police said.
