Biz News: Dueling piano club coming to The Triangle in March

Keys on Main, a dueling piano club, is coming to The Triangle in downtown Costa Mesa in March, according to a news release.

It will be the chain’s first location in California. Keys on Main has other clubs in Salt Lake City, Seattle and Tacoma, Wash.

The venue will take up an 8,500-square-foot space and feature two performers on baby grand pianos who pay songs requested by the audience. Food will include American favorites and a full bar.

Halloween Bootique, a holiday shop, also recently opened at The Triangle.

After Halloween, the shop will relocate to another permanent space within the complex and offer vintage and alternative clothing.

Limon returns to NRM as partner

Former Newport Beach Mayor Rush Hill, owner of NRM, a real estate company, has named Alan Limon as partner.

Limon has worked Hill’s Newport Beach-based company before as a real estate consultant. He also served as Hill’s chief of staff when he served on the City Council.

First Foundation acquires Seal Beach bank branch

First Foundation Bank based in Irvine has entered into an agreement to acquire the Seal Beach branch of Pacific Western Bank, according to a news release.

First Foundation expects to complete the transaction by the end of the year after regulatory approvals and closing conditions.

Former Cat Clinic owner starts new practice

Dr. Kelly Wright, former owner of the Cat Clinic of Orange County in Costa Mesa, has opened a new practice.

The feline veterinarian’s new company is called The Purr Doctor. She offers mobile vet visits to client homes.

QSC acquires audio company

QSC, LLC, a Costa Mesa-based audio systems supplier, has acquired Ultra-Stereo Labs, Inc.

USL, based in San Luis Obispo and founded in 1982, provides audio signal processing and audio-visual test and measurement products.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“As the first major acquisition in the nearly 50-year history of our company, we naturally wanted to find a company that would be an excellent strategic fit for QSC,” Jatan Shah, QSC’s chief executive officer, said in a statement.

“We recognize the many valuable contributions that USL has made to the cinema industry over the years and are confident that the integration of the two companies will provide an even more powerful total value proposition for our customers,” he said.

Cole Haan, an American lifestyle brand and retailer, is opening a new flagship store at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa this month.

Mother’s Market hosts 38th anniversary event

Mother’s Market and Kitchen, a Costa Mesa-based natural and organic foods retailer, is having its 38th anniversary event Oct. 15.

The Harvest Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Santa Ana Mother’s Market, 151 E. Memory Lane.

The event includes free samples of products, a drawing and live music.
