Biz News: Marché Moderne to move from Costa Mesa to Newport Beach

Marché Moderne, a regular on Los Angeles Times food critic Jonathan Gold’s 101 Best Restaurant’s list, will move from its current location inside South Coast Plaza to the Crystal Cove Shopping Center next year.

Chef Florent Marneau will continue the restaurant’s French, market-inspired menu, with signature dishes such as foie gras, coq au vin and grilled octopus. The new location is slated to open next spring at 7862 E. Pacific Coast Highway, Newport Beach.

Senior care center sold

Villa Rose Memory Care, a 98-bed center in Eastside Costa Mesa, has been sold for $6.5 million, according to Seniors Housing Business magazine.

San Diego-based Pacifica Senior Living, which also operates the Pacifica senior facility on Bear Street in Costa Mesa, acquired the 31,900-square-foot community at 2619 Orange Ave. It was last renovated in 2011.

Sandvig named to Island Hotel sales position

Ron Sandvig has been named the director of travel sales for the Island Hotel in Newport Beach.

Sandvig will “leverage his extensive industry connections, concentrating on working with the hotel’s top travel partners ... to build lasting client relationships to bolster market share and drive revenue streams,” according to a news release.

Sandvig, a graduate of the University of Hawaii, last served as vice president of travel industry sales for the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes.

Pelican Hill lauded by Condé Nast Traveler

Condé Nast Traveler magazine named The Resort at Pelican Hill as No. 3 in its Top 25 Resorts in Southern California as part of the publication’s 29th annual Readers’ Choice Awards.

The Newport Coast resort was also recognized by the magazine in 2012 and 2013.

Costa Mesa bridal store to close
