Hit-and-run crash in H.B. sends minivan into apartment building; suspect arrested

A 31-year-old man was arrested Thursday night on suspicion of hit-and-run after two vehicles collided, sending one into a Huntington Beach apartment building.

Huntington Beach police responded to the area of Goldenwest Street and McFadden Avenue at about 10 p.m. after receiving a report of a crash, Officer Angela Bennett said.

OnScene TV reported that a pickup and a minivan collided, causing the minivan to veer into a nearby apartment building.

A woman inside the building was taken to a hospital. Her condition was not immediately available.

The pickup, which sustained significant damage in the crash, left the scene, Bennett said.

Officers found the truck at Goldenwest Street and Bluebonnett Drive. The driver, Charles Marconi, was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run, Bennett said.
