A man wanted in San Diego on an attempted murder warrant was arrested in Costa Mesa, authorities said Thursday.

Costa Mesa police responded to the area of 1900 Newport Blvd. at about 1:55 p.m. Wednesday after receiving an anonymous tip that a wanted man, Salvador Manuel Ibarra, 24, was in the area, said Lt. Greg Scott of the Costa Mesa Police Department.

Ibarra was possibly taking pictures of himself next to CMPD vehicles at the location and posting them to social media, Scott said.

Costa Mesa police found Ibarra in a parking lot with a woman, whose identity was not immediately available, and arrested him.

Ibarra is suspected of having ties to a San Diego-based gang, Scott said.
