Costa Mesa boy, 11, reported missing; police seek public’s help in search

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding an 11-year-old autistic boy whose parents reported him missing from their Costa Mesa apartment early Monday.

Diego Garcia’s parents called police just before 7 a.m. when they noticed he was missing from their apartment in the 1200 block of Adams Avenue.

Diego is 4 feet 11 inches tall and 110 pounds and has long brown hair. He was wearing a green shirt, black shorts and red sandals.

He has limited communication skills but will answer to his name, police said.

Police said he has no history of running away but that there is no indication of suspicious circumstances.
