Person extracted from car after 3-vehicle crash in Newport Coast

One person was extracted from a car after a three-vehicle crash in Newport Coast on Saturday, authorities said.

Newport Beach and Laguna Beach fire crews responded to the crash at the intersection of Newport Coast Drive and Pelican Hill Road at 9:12 a.m., fire officials said.

One vehicle was overturned. Firefighters extracted a person from a vehicle and provided medical aid to that person and three others involved in the crash.

Two people were taken to trauma centers, officials said.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
