CM4RG endorses 3 council candidates

Costa Mesans for Responsible Government, a nonpartisan activist group, has endorsed Sandy Genis, Jay Humphrey and John Stephens for City Council in the November election.

Genis is seeking reelection for a second four-year term on the council. Humphrey is a former councilman who last served in the 1990s. Stephens, an attorney, last ran in 2012.

“The goals of these candidates strongly align with those of CM4RG,” Wendy Leece, the group’s election committee chairwoman and a former council member, said in a statement. “They will be responsive to Costa Mesans vs. outside interests. They will support orderly, well-planned growth that respects established neighborhoods and will prioritize the safety and well-being of the public.”
