“Vaxxed,” directed by Andrew Wakefield with a tagline “From cover-up to catastrophe,” had its premiere this spring and will be screening Aug. 9 at the Island Cinema in Newport Beach.

The 91-minute film claims a cover-up by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of an alleged link between autism and the vaccine for measles, mumps and rubella.
