Ocean View’s Mezzano, Greiner honored

Ocean View High senior outside hitter Haley Mezzano and sophomore libero Kelli Greiner received first-team All-Golden West League laurels in girls’ volleyball.

Mezzano and Greiner helped the Seahawks to a third-place finish in league and the CIF Southern Section Division 7 playoffs. Ocean View (10-11, 6-4 in league) lost in four sets at Garden Grove in the first round.

Mezzano averaged 9.9 kills and 3.1 service aces per match, while Greiner averaged 11 digs and 2.3 aces per match.

Ocean View senior opposite Leva Vaiciunas and sophomore middle blocker Helen Reynolds made the second team.

Westminster senior setter Brianna Ho was the league MVP.
