LANCASTER — The Lions led, 5-0, 7-2, and 8-7, but the hosts rallied for two in the ninth to prevail in the nonconference game Wednesday.

Brandon Sandoval and Brock Eissman were both three for five for the Lions (10-6).

Michael Fuchs and Josh Weeks had two hits apiece for the Lions.

Eissman took the loss, retiring just one hitter in the ninth.

Antelope Valley is 6-9.

MEN’S VOLLEYBALL

Orange Coast def. Miramar

Jordan Hoppe had 10 kills to help the host Pirates sweep the nonconference match, 25-12, 25-19, 25-13, on Wednesday.

Justin Kam had seven kills and Colby Elder chipped in 21 assists and four digs for the winners (5-1).

Miramar is 3-2.

Golden West def. San Diego Mesa

The host Rustlers improved to 5-1 with a nonconference victory on Wednesday.
