Key Barons: Sr. QB Nick Welch (87 of 157 passing for 1,396 yards, 10 TDs and six INTs; 576 rushing yards and nine TDs); Sr. RB-LB Benn Vallier (81 carries for 669 yards and seven TDs); Sr. WR Adam Arganda (25 catches for 438 yards and three TDs).
Key Sailors: Jr. QB Sam Barela (86 of 195 passing for 968 yards, eight TDs and five INTs); Sr. WR Jake Bashore; Sr. OL-DL Spencer Blake.
Breakdown: Fountain Valley (5-2, 1-1 in league) will be looking to bounce back from a tough loss to Huntington Beach when it plays at Newport Harbor (0-7, 0-2) in this Sunset League game … The Barons, ranked No. 9 in CIF Southern Section Division 6, lost to the Oilers 21-14 last week to fall into a tie for third place in the league with Huntington Beach … Newport Harbor is coming off a 48-0 loss to Edison in which the second half was played with a running clock … Sailors also were blanked 49-0 by Los Alamitos in their league opener and are averaging just 10.3 points per game … Newport Harbor has won six of its last seven league meetings with Fountain Valley.
