High School Roundup: CdM boys’ tennis takes care of Beckman

Corona del Mar 12, Beckman 6

Jacob Cooper and Ryan Wessler swept in doubles for the Sea Kings in Thursday’s Pacific Coast League match at Beckman High.

Matt Paulsen and John Hart also swept for CdM (6-2, 1-0 in league), and Kyle Pham and John Dick each won two singles sets.

CdM plays in the CdM All-American Tournament on Friday and Saturday, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Friday against Bellarmine Prep.

Fountain Valley 16, Edison 2

Justin Nguyen and Ryan Trinh both swept in singles for the Barons in Thursday’s Sunset League opener at Fountain Valley High.

The doubles teams of Jonathan Dang and Vivek Savsani, Brandon Keller and Jason Tran, as well as Tommy Trinh and Eric Tadros, all swept for Fountain Valley (5-4, 1-0 in league).
