High school roundup: Huntington Beach girls’ water polo falls in Division 2 wild-card game

Maddie Bockman scored three goals as the Huntington Beach High girls’ water polo team lost 8-7 at Santa Margarita in a CIF Southern Section Division 2 wild-card playoff game on Tuesday night.

Nicca Falah had two goals for Huntington Beach (15-9), while Emily Tucker and Courtney Heydorff each scored one.

Marina Hyham made 12 saves for the Oilers.

Cathedral City 5, Sage Hill 0: The visiting Lightning were blanked on the road in the wild-card round of the CIF Southern Section Division 5 playoffs on Tuesday.

Sage Hill finished the season 11-9-1.
