Edison High senior quarterback Griffin O’Connor has committed to Yale’s football program, Chargers football coach Jeff Grady said on Friday.

O’Connor, who decommitted from UNLV on Monday, said he could not pass up on the Ivy League school.

“I’m trying to look more at the 40-, 50-year plan, rather than the four or five,” said O’Connor, who as a junior passed for 3,600 yards and 37 touchdowns, both Edison single-season records, and rushed for 415 yards and 10 touchdowns.

“It kind of just came down to where do I want my future to go. Yale is such a prestigious school.”
