Balboa Island greets holidays with dancing Santa and tree lighting

Balboa Island celebrated the holiday season Sunday with its annual tree-lighting ceremony outside the fire station at 124 Marine Ave.

The free Newport Beach community event featured a mound of real snow for sledding, plus a dancing Santa and Mrs. Claus boogieing to the music of vocalist Rick Sherman.
