Sewage spill closes part of Huntington Harbour to swimmers

A sewage spill has closed a portion of Huntington Harbour to swimmers until further notice, the Orange County Health Care Agency announced.

The agency’s alert warned people to avoid swimming and diving in the water at Sunset Aquatic Marina and Portofino Cove after sewage spilled into the water Wednesday.

The water will be closed until tests show bacteria levels are back to normal, according to the agency.

The notice did not say where the spill originated or what caused it.
