Wedding to help support Glendale Humane Society

An unusual wedding ceremony will be held on Nov. 4 when two dogs will tie the knot to help support the Glendale Humane Society, from which they were adopted.

Molly, a poodle mix, and Martin, a cocker spaniel, were adopted at separate times by Jeannie Flint and Dave Werbelow and formed a bond that’s being celebrated.

The event, which will go from 6 to 9 p.m., will be held at Pirch in the Glendale Galleria, 100 W. Broadway. The pair will exchange vows at 7 p.m.

To help support the Glendale Humane Society, a $75 donation is requested from guests to help care for and feed adoptable pets in the society’s care.

Local YWCA to host Community Fair

An event called the Prevention is Possible Community Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the YWCA of Glendale, 735 E. Lexington Drive, Glendale.

At the free family-friendly event, there will be food, games, community resources and a rummage sale. Proceeds from the sale will support the YWCA’s programs for women and children.
