Death of ‘recluse’ is ruled a homicide

Coroner’s officials have ruled the death of a 73-year-old man found dead in his La Crescenta home last month as a homicide.

The man, identified by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s officials as Arthur Palmer, suffered “multiple blunt-force traumatic injuries,” said Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter.

Palmer, a “known recluse,” was found dead in the attached garage of his home, located in the 3000 block of Frances Avenue, on July 24, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities responded to the residence after a concerned neighbor reported not having seen or heard from Palmer for some time.
