Briefs: Adventist to hold four events this month

Glendale Adventist Medical Center will hold four events in October as part of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Starting from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, the hospital will conduct a breast cancer prevention seminar in the JCPenney court area in the Glendale Galleria, 100 W. Broadway.

An event called “Zumba for Pink!” will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 14, in the main auditorium at Glendale Adventist, 1509 Wilson Terrace, promoting breast cancer awareness through exercise.

A mammogram night will be offered 4 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 25 at 1505 Wilson Terrace, where the hospital’s staff will pamper with goodie bags and educate women as they receive a mammogram.

The Alex Theatre, 216 N. Brand Blvd., will host a “Laugh for a Cause” fundraiser at 5 p.m. on Oct. 30, featuring comedian Maz Jobrani.

Health event slated for next Wednesday

The Regal Medical Group and Lakeside Community Healthcare will host an event called “Celebrating Your Health” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. next Wednesday at the Adult Recreation Center, 201 E. Colorado St., Glendale.

Attendees can receive free health screenings, a flu shot and advice on selecting the right doctor. Licensed insurance agents will also be on hand to help navigate various healthcare coverage and insurance questions.
