Driver pulls a gun on Glendale officer, who shoots at him; he flees and is target of search

Glendale police are searching for a man who reportedly pulled a gun on an officer early Friday.

At about 1 a.m., the officer was conducting a traffic stop at Boston Avenue and Foothill Boulevard.

Authorities said the driver pulled out a handgun, and the officer fired a single shot in response.

A pursuit ensued, but the officer lost sight of the vehicle in the Tujunga area.

Police have not yet released details about the car or the man, and it is unknown if the driver was struck by gunfire.

The investigation is continuing.
