A woman was robbed last Wednesday when a man came up and snatched her purse as she was walking to her apartment in La Crescenta, authorities say.

The robbery occurred around 4:25 p.m. in the 3100 block of Foothill Boulevard. The woman had gotten out of her vehicle and was walking to her apartment when a man grabbed her purse, according to an incident report from the Crescenta Valley Sherriff’s Station.

“She tried to hold onto it but did not have enough strength,” the report states. “She yelled for help as the man ran off.”

The man ran into a waiting vehicle that drove away from the apartment.

A witness who heard the woman scream told police the getaway car was a white, current model Dodge Challenger with tinted windows and paper license plates from a Huntington Beach dealership.

It’s unknown if the woman was injured, but she declined medical attention, according to the report.

Sheriff’s deputies were unable to locate the vehicle.
