Motorcyclist hospitalized after he’s struck by a car in Glendale

A 26-year-old motorcyclist was hospitalized Tuesday morning after being struck by a car in Glendale, police said.

Shortly after 10:30 a.m., officers responded to Verdugo Road and Calle Vaquero, where a Mercedes sedan had struck the Glendale man, according to Tahnee Lightfoot, a Glendale police spokeswoman.

As of Wednesday morning, the motorcyclist was in serious but stable condition.

Police said the driver, a 53-year-old Glendale woman, was not impaired. Authorities are investigating what caused the collision.

The intersection was closed for several hours. Commuters were redirected to the Glendale (2) Freeway and Canada Boulevard while traffic officers investigated the collision.
