Missing Glendale man, 76, found unharmed in Sunland-Tujunga

Hours after a missing person’s alert was issued for him, a 76-year-old Glendale man was found by Los Angeles police early Friday.

Vartan Alexan Sarafian was found in Sunland-Tujunga by LAPD officers about 3:30 a.m. Sarafian’s family had told police he was last seen in the 2200 block of Chevy Oaks Circle about 4 p.m. Thursday.

“We don’t know if he took a bus or walked that distance or how he ended up there,” Tahnee Lightfoot, spokesperson for Glendale police, said.

Sarafian, who suffers from Alzheimer’s and dementia, was found unharmed and was reunited with his family. Glendale police had issued a Silver Alert for him Thursday evening.
