Glendale’s AB 109 Task Force, created to address the local impact of the state’s criminal realignment law, visited the Willows Motel in Sun Valley Thursday morning looking for Hovek Arzooian, 33, after a no-bail warrant was issued for his arrest for failing to report to his probation office, said Glendale Police Sgt. Robert Rosas.

A known Armenian Power gang member and former Glendale resident, Arzooian was reportedly on post-release community supervision for his involvement in a commercial burglary in Glendale two years ago.

At the motel, police encountered former Glendale resident, Gabriyel Kechechyan, 30, who was on probation for a Glendale robbery, Rosas said. On Kechechyan, police found the keys to a Toyota Corolla parked outside that had been reported stolen out of North Hollywood earlier this week.

From inside the room, police reportedly seized a loaded .40 caliber handgun without a serial number, along with a .380 semi-automatic handgun, drugs, drug paraphernalia and re-encoded credit cards.

Arzooian’s elderly father was also in the room, but was not arrested.
