David Arakelyan, Junior, Attacker, Burroughs

Finished with 80 goals and 37 steals and was bestowed with All-CIF Southern Section Division V Player of the Year and All-Pacific League second-team honors for champion Indians.

George Avakian, Freshman, Attacker, La Cañada

Made an instant impact as the Spartans went from the outside of the playoffs in 2015 to the CIF Southern Section Division V semifinals in 2016, which led to him garnering an All-CIF Southern Section Division V first-team nod. Helped Spartans capture Rio Hondo League championship and received all-league first-team recognition in process.

Kasen Barraclough, Junior, Utility, Flintridge Prep

Picked up Prep League co-Most Valuable Player and all-league first-team honors. Finished with 79 goals, 74 steals and 37 assists to help Rebels gain split of league championship with Chadwick and Brentwood following torrid finish to league campaign.

Reagan Hesse, Senior, Driver, Crescenta Valley

Enjoyed a fabulous final season, finishing with career-high and area-best 108 goals and 30 steals. Received All-Pacific League first-team and All-CIF Southern Section Division II second-team honors.

Aram Nordanyan, Senior, Utility, Burroughs

Paced CIF champions with team-high 95 goals. Earned All-CIF Southern Section Division V first-team and All-Pacific League second-team accolade for Indians, who took second in league, but had area’s finest postseason run with city’s first-ever championship.

Jonathan Salandi, Senior, Goalkeeper, Hoover

A clutch performer through and through for the Tornadoes in a multitude of close games. An All-Pacific League first-team selection who finished with 312 saves, 45 assists and 26 steals to help the Tornadoes win the league title for first time since 1989. Earned All-CIF Southern Section Division II second-team recognition.

Marko Vucetic, Junior, Utility, Burroughs

Provided scoring balance and steady defense, as he finished with an outstanding 94 goals and 31 steals. Picked up All-Pacific League and All-CIF Southern Section Division V first-team nods.

Coach of the Year

Jacob Cook, Burroughs

Piloted Burroughs (25-6, 6-2 in Pacific League) to a second-place finish in league before leading Indians to historic CIF Southern Section Division V championship against San Juan Hills. Burroughs’ success came with a balanced offense and strong defense, as the Division V Coach of the Year became just the second Burroughs High coach to hoist up a CIF team championship plaque.
