Crescenta Valley High School students mourned a classmate Saturday who died in a single-car crash on Tujunga Canyon Boulevard two days prior.

A vigil for Christine Martinez brought more than 100 students, her family and school officials to the Firehouse, a youth center at the corner of Foothill Boulevard and Rosemont Avenue in La Crescenta.

Last Thursday, Martinez was ejected from a 1998 Ford Explore driven by 18-year old La Crescenta resident Summerain Solomon.

At around 10:20 p.m., Solomon lost control of the vehicle and it tumbled three times on Tujunga Canyon Boulevard near Pali Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Valley Traffic division.

Of the three passengers in the car, Martinez was the only one who ejected.

Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Solomon and the other passengers were transported to local hospitals.
