Topless woman sings in a tree in Huntington Beach

A woman was taken to a hospital Friday morning after she was seen topless and singing in a tree in a residential neighborhood in Huntington Beach.

Police officers arrived on the frontage road of Innsbruck Drive, south of Yorktown Avenue, at 11:03 a.m. to find the woman in the tree, said Huntington Beach Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer Marlatt.

“She had taken off her dress and only had underwear on and was topless,” Marlatt said.

Fire Department officials were called to help get the woman down.

Two police officers went up in a bucket from a fire engine to try to reach her, Marlatt said, but as they got close, she climbed down onto a brick wall.

Officers on the ground helped her down from there and onto a gurney about 11:30 a.m., when she was taken to the hospital for mental evaluation.

Traffic on nearby Bushard Street slowed during the incident as people stopped to take photos, Marlatt said.
